How many years have you been operating tours like this?

We have been in the tour business since 2004 and provide expert knowledge in group travel. Since 2012, we have been traveling to Italy at least twice each year.

Passports and visas

Passports for travel to the Dominican Republic should be valid 6 months beyond your travel dates to avoid unintended disruptions. Make photocopies of your passports and keep them separately.  Visa are also required to enter the Dominican Republic.  See "Know Before You Go" link for more information.

Can I pay with my credit card?

We accept Visa, Master Card and American Express with an online invoice system. You can also make payments via cashier's check in US dollars.  There is a 3.5% charge to pay by credit card.  This is the fee charged to All About Destinations to process your credit card payment.

What’s the pace like?

The pace is very laid back as you are at an all-inclusive resort.  The pace of the optional excursion is more up-tempo.

Tipping/Gratuities

We suggest moderate tipping/gratuity for your resort personnel – this is entirely discretionary.  Tipping at meals is optional in the DR.

Is airfare included?

The tour include airfare from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT).  It is your responsibility to make travel arrangements to get to Pittsburgh in time to depart with our group on the flight to Punta Cana.

What airlines do you use?

We only use reputable international carriers.  Specific airlines used is based on time of year and best group rate.

How much luggage can I bring?

You are allowed one suitcase and one airline regulation carry-on size bag. We suggest that you pack lightly.  Try not to over-pack.  Check the weather forecast before you pack to determine the type of clothing you will need.

Who will be leading our tour?

We are well qualified tour managers (Jeff and Lisa)  In addition, we use licensed, charming English-speaking, native Dominicans on the excursion.

Are your trip departure guaranteed?

We require a minimum of 15 people in a group for the trip to occur.  Once we have 15 people, your trip is guaranteed.  Trip cancellation can only be done by the WVU Alumni Band Board once the 15-person threshold has been reached.

Do you provide transfers to and from the airport?

Transfers are provided from the airport to the resort by motorcoach.  Only those who travel with the "group" will be provided transfer services.  Those who travel on their own will need to make transfer arrangements as well.

What kind of resort do you use?

The group will be staying at the Grand Palladium Palace Spa and Casino Resort.  This is a high quality all-inclusive resort.

Will I have my own bathroom?

Yes, you always have your own private in-room bath.

I am traveling alone. Do you take singles?

We do have space for single travelers.  Rooms are usually single-use doubles. There is an additional single room supplement charge.

Are the meals included?

As we are staying at an all-inclusive resort, meals are included and cover a variety of options.

Do you take us shopping?

You will have plenty of time on your own if you wish to shop, but do not take you to "shop".

Smoking is allowed in many restaurants, bars and public buildings in Dominican Republic.  We have a no smoking policy on all motorcoaches and ask that you not smoke in your resort room.

What’s the best way to communicate home while on tour?
